Two eminent scientists, Drs. Daniel Briggs and P.J. (Bert) Hakkinen, have recently joined TERA as Visiting Scientists.  Dr. Briggs is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology with over 25 years industry experience managing safety assessments for a wide variety of consumer products and interacting with regulatory agencies.  He also has extensive experience working with industry trade associations and has led several multi-company committees in the design and execution of large-scale toxicology programs.  Dr. Briggs will contribute to a variety of TERA projects, including the new Peer Consultation program.

Dr. Hakkinen is an international expert in exposure assessment who will provide support to the Peer Consultation program and numerous other TERA efforts.  He has over 20 years of professional experience in toxicology, and assessing human exposures and risks, including work at Procter & Gamble involving global human exposure and risk assessment support for numerous types of consumer products and chemicals.  He also chaired the Exposure Assessment Task Group of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) from 1991 to 1996, and chaired the ACC’s Human Exposure Assessment Technical Implementation Panel for several months in 2001 until joining TERA.

Short biographies can be found at www.tera.org/staff.  TERA is extremely pleased that these two highly-experienced scientists have joined our group.
