Molecular Toxicologist
Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA) is
seeking a molecular toxicologist to help build on our strong history in human
health risk assessment and risk science methods. This is a growth position
for someone recently completing a Ph.D. or postdoctoral program in toxicology or
a related field. Knowledge of risk
assessment methods is a plus, but not required.
Experience in computational biology and/or PBPK modeling is also a plus.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in diverse tasks using
knowledge of toxicology and molecular biology, including:
- Preparing critical
summaries of toxicity, epidemiology, toxicokinetics, and mechanistic studies
for comprehensive toxicological reviews.
- Learning and applying
human health risk assessment guidelines and methods for the development of
toxicity values (e.g., RfDs, RfCs) and cancer assessments.
- Critically evaluating
and applying mechanistic and mode of action data in evaluating the toxicity
of chemicals and relevance of animal toxicity findings to humans.
- Evaluating and
incorporating biomarker data in risk assessment.
- Participating on
project teams in the development of documents and research projects related
to diverse areas of risk assessment science.

Toxicologist/Senior Scientist
Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA) is
seeking a senior scientist to serve in a leadership role, continuing to
build on the organization’s strong history in the development of risk assessment
documents and risk science methods. Key job duties will include:

Conducting detailed critical analyses and synthesis of
toxicology data and developing objective and balanced
integrated hazard assessments and dose-response analyses
·
Designing and conducting analyses and research leading to improved
risk assessment methods
·
Serving as a senior reviewer of technical project work developed
by other staff and providing technical direction to staff
·
Managing project teams in the development of the hazard
characterization and dose-response assessments and in the development of risk
assessment methods
·
Developing and implementing strategic plans for marketing and
business development; preparing technical and cost proposals
·
Representing TERA at scientific and professional meetings
We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent
interpersonal skills to work in a team environment. The successful candidate
would be a creative problem solver, with excellent writing skills, and a
demonstrated track record of managing complex projects. We seek candidates with
5 plus years of experience in toxicology and risk assessment applications and a
graduate degree in an appropriate field.
Additional pluses are international experience, expertise in molecular
toxicology and/or quantitative/modeling applications, service on expert panels
or chairing such panels, a desire to develop and present training courses on
risk assessment methods, and certification by the American Board of Toxicology (DABT).
