TERA is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the best use of toxicity information for risk values.  TERA is a growing scientific and educational organization that strives to protect public health by studying the toxicity of environmental contaminants and developing corresponding risk values.

POSITION AVAILABLE:  Toxicologist/Senior Scientist

 

Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA) is seeking a senior scientist to serve in a leadership role, continuing to build on the organization’s strong history in the development of risk assessment documents and risk science methods.  Key job duties will include:

 

bullet Conducting detailed critical analyses and synthesis of toxicology data and developing objective and balanced integrated hazard assessments and dose-response analyses


bullet Designing and conducting analyses and research leading to improved risk assessment methods


bullet Serving as a senior reviewer of technical project work developed by other staff and providing technical direction to staff


bullet Managing project teams in the development of the hazard characterization and dose-response assessments and in the development of risk assessment methods


bullet Developing and implementing strategic plans for marketing and business development; preparing technical and cost proposal


bullet Representing TERA at scientific and professional meetings

 

We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work in a team environment.  The successful candidate would be a creative problem solver, with excellent writing skills, and a demonstrated track record of managing complex projects.  We seek candidates with 5 plus years of experience in toxicology and risk assessment applications and a graduate degree in an appropriate field.  Additional pluses are international experience, expertise in molecular toxicology and/or quantitative/modeling applications, service on expert panels or chairing such panels, a desire to develop and present training courses on risk assessment methods, and certification by the American Board of Toxicology (DABT).
